Department of Management

The Bachelor of Science in Management programme is designed to develop graduates with the knowledge, skills, and professional competencies required to become effective managers and leaders in an increasingly dynamic global business environment. Guided by its Programme Learning Objectives (PLOs), the programme equips graduates with a strong foundation in management, ethical and socially responsible decision-making, and the leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities essential for professional success and lifelong learning. These aims are closely aligned with the strategic and operational priorities of Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), which emphasize academic excellence, innovation, entrepreneurship, industry engagement, leadership, and the development of human capital in support of Oman Vision 2040. The program also advances the mission of the College of Economics and Political Science by producing graduates capable of addressing contemporary organizational and societal challenges through high-quality education, research, and community engagement.

The PLOs and Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) translate these objectives into measurable competencies. Graduates are expected to demonstrate sound knowledge of management theories and practices, critical thinking and evidence-based decision-making, effective communication, teamwork, proficiency in digital technologies and analytical tools, and ethical leadership. The programme is further aligned with the SQU Graduate Attributes, driving intellectual competence, communication, digital and information literacy, research capability, critical and creative thinking, professionalism, leadership, and lifelong learning.

Through these integrated objectives, the programme prepares graduates to excel in public, private, and non-profit organizations, promote innovation and entrepreneurship, respond to evolving labour market needs, and contribute to the sustainable economic and social development of the Sultanate of Oman.
