Workshop: Anti-Corruption Importance of Integrity in a Business

In collaboration with Siemens and Pearl Initiative from the UAE (http://www.pearlinitiative.org), College of Economics and Political Science (CEPS) hosted a workshop on “Anti-Corruption: Importance of Integrity in a Business” in April, 2017. The guest speaker of the event was Mr. Ibrahim Al Akhzami, Senior Manager / Legal affairs, Omantel. Two representatives from Pearl Initiatives, Mr. Jack and Ms. Brittany Brese, Business Services Managers, also participated in the event. Mr. Ibrahim of Omantel, in his lecture, shared the good ethical practices institutionalized at Omantel. The thought-provoking lecture enthused students and professors to hold a freewheeling dialogue with the representatives of Omantel, Siemens and Pearl Initiative on the subject. Further, Mr. Ibrahim and the faculty members agreed to do more collaborative work between Omantel and CEPS on ethics, corporate social responsibility, and sustainability. Brittany Brese of Pearl Initiative introduced the faculty and students to the Pearl Initiative case study competition that will start from September 2017. She encouraged the students to participate in the competition.
