Vision   The vision of the department is to contribute effectively in the preservation of the heritage and the language of the Arab world, and introducing it to scholars in its best form. It seeks to be one of the leading Arabic language and literature departments in the Arab world.
	Mission   The department is keen on instilling the concept of Arabic identity in the minds of its students, urging them to be proud of the Arabic language, and boosting their sense of patriotism. It also seeks to qualify specialists in the Arabic language and literature to contribute to the ongoing development of their country.
	Objectives   1. To train the students in different fields of specialization in Arabic language , in order to contribute effectively in society.   2. To train the students on methods of scientific research.   3. To offer Arabic courses for specialized students in college of Education.   4. To encourage the students and help them develop their linguistic and literary skills.   5. To train the students and prepare them for studying Arabic and Omani heritage.
