My Interest is focused on the documentation of Oman’s native flora. To achieve this, one main duty is going on field trips to collect reference material at the SQU Herbarium. The herbarium collection is an essential resources for all plant related research. We also maintain a database of the plant collection, where close to 6000 records have been entered. My other interest is research in plant molecular phylogenetic, fingerprinting, and medicinal uses of herbal plants.
I have been the Curator of SQU Herbarium since 1998. I received a Diploma in Herbarium Techniques from Kew Garden in 1999. In 2014 I attended a training course on use of HPTLC application in plant fingerprinting and identification of species.
