Engineering Training Exhibition

 

The SQU, College of Engineering, Engineering Training Exhibition is regarded as one of the leading model shows in the SQU attracts over 1000 students annually.

Come along and see the full spectrum of posters from Architectural, Chemical and Process, Civil, Electrical and Computer, Industrial, Mechanical, Mechatronics, and Petroleum and Natural Gas engineering.

Visitors can travel between the show’s different zones; look the activities and watching fascinating and technical training experiences demonstrations.

Over 100 students and societies will be present displaying their members work and competing to win the best trainee award.  In total nearly 80 posters will be on display.

Organizers expect to welcome the return of the sponsors’ organizations who provide a full supports to the event. 

All of the sponsors’ organizations will also be present showcasing new products and special promotions and giving hobbyists excellent job opportunities to engineering students. You will be able to meet with organization’s delegates to discuss different related issues.

This is a great day out for all the students, the eligible students who will be apply for training course in the next summer vacation will gain a lot of information about the training ( registration, application , name of the partners, ..etc.).

Training Exhibition 2016

 

The office of Assistant Dean for Training and Community Service (ADTCS) is proudly to announce its achievements.

  •  We have trained 410 students for the year 2016. Every student registered for training was assigned a placement in a company. A 100% placement.
  • Two students were sent to IDIMITSU-Japan. They were very satisfied with the training program as well as the officers of the company were admired of the level standard of our students.
  • The ADTCS organized the Industrial Training Exhibition on December 5th, 2016 to highlight the summer industrial training experience of the final year undergraduate students of the college. Professor Abdullah Hamed Al Badi, the Dean of the College of Engineering opened the exhibition that displayed the best 49 posters prepared by the students who completed their compulsory summer internship in 2016.
  • We have maintained the number of institutions both public and private who were kindly able to collaborate with us and train our students since last year, which are 66.
  • We have exchanged 40 students in the IAESTE program in 2016 and we have received 38 students.
  • The number of students trained in 2016 increased by 14 % compared to the previous year of 2015.

 

 

 

Training Exhibition 2015

 

The College of Engineering, SQU, which this year celebrates its 5th Training Exhibition, is an annual event that showcases the practical work carried out by Engineering students during the summer vacation before the final year of their B.Eng. degree program.

 

The total number of exhibits by undergraduate students for this year amounts to 50. This selection of projects areas was selected by the Industrial Departmental Supervisors. The participated departments were Civil & Architectural Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Mechanical & Industrial Engineering, Petroleum & Chemical Engineering, and Mechatronics Engineering.

 

The public were invited to the Exhibition, held at the Exhibition Hall, Sultan Qaboos University, on Tuesday 14 April from 9:00am to 4:00pm.

 

Throughout the years, the exhibited posters have portrayed state-of-the-art technological achievements of the students. The aim of the exhibition is to give prospective students and members of the public, particularly persons working in the various engineering sectors, an opportunity to view the projects first hand, and to meet with students of the Faculty of Engineering who are going to do training next summer. Representatives of a number of leading private companies participate in the exhibition and offer their support each year. The following companies were support the event generously:

  • Muscat Electricity Distribution Company

  • Schlumberger Oilfield Services

  • Parsons International

    Oman Society of Engineers also participated in the exhibition; the main objective of their participation was to assure that the students is encouraged to join the society after their graduation.

     

    The college is acknowledge the participation of Engineering society in the organizing the exhibition.

     

     

      

    Training Exhibition 2014

     

     

    The Industrial Engineering Training Exhibition kicked off on Wednesday 30 September from 9:00am to 4:00pm at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU). The exhibition is organized by Faculty of Engineering under the auspices of Honorable Professor/ Khalifa Al Jabri , Head of Civil and Architectural Engineering Department. Dr. Issa bin Hamdoun al-Harthy, Assistant Dean for Training and Community Services said that the Engineering Faculty pays much attention to the provision of the technical and scientific & research environment for the students through the close collaboration between the faculty with the various industrial sectors inside and outside the Sultanate. Al-Harthy added that the best trainees would be for 2015 chosen during the exhibitor in accordance with different criteria that were set for choosing the best trainee depending on the grade in the final training report, weekly report, in addition to the company's performance assessment and the presentation on the exhibition. …

     

    The total number of exhibits by undergraduate students for this year were approached 80 posters; the Industrial Departmental Supervisors selected this selection of projects areas.
