Annual meetings of the Staff-Student Liaison Committee have been carried out since its inception in 2003. The goal of the committee is to provide a forum for students to express their views on academic issues related to programs, courses, teaching and learning environment in the Department. The committee serves several benefits that include curriculum development, updating the course content and facilitation of teaching and learning environment.

The committee is chaired by the Head of the Department and also includes faculty representatives, one of whom acts as the coordinator. It further includes two student members from each cohort of Civil Engineering Program (CIVL) and Architectural Engineering Program (AREN).

Chaired by the Head of the Department, this committee is a link between the students and the Department. It comprises of nominated students representing all cohorts of the students who are allocated to the ECE program, and the Department’s Head, Assistant Head and a selected member of the Department.  The main objective of this committee is to receive a collective feedback from the students’ body in accordance with the university regulations, inform the Department Board about the issues raised by the students, and plan for the required actions to rectify problems. At least two meetings are scheduled per year and all meetings are minuted. The feedback received from the students is part of the continuous quality improvement process.
