The 9th. International Conference of the College of Education at Sultan Qaboos University, Sultanate of Oman comes to highlight the importance of presenting contemporary and future visions for the role of psychology in typical and crisis times. Contemporary events and the natural disasters we have witnessed, such as earthquakes, human-made disasters, such as wars and internal and international conflicts, in addition to the spread of epidemics, and economic crises, have all spread fear among individuals across the globe. Studies have documented the negative psychological effects of such incidents that have struck humanity, including, for example, the spread of fear, anxiety, emotional distress, symptoms of post-traumatic stress, difficulties in sleeping, and obsession with contracting infectious deadly diseases.
