|This course facilitates safe, healthy, legal, and ethical uses of digital information and technologies. The instructor will model and promote strategies for achieving safe, secure, legal, and equitable access to digital tools and resources and technology-related best practices for all students. Students will broaden their global digital citizenry knowledge and skills, diversity, cultural understanding, and global awareness by using digital-age communication and collaboration tools to interact locally and globally with students, instructors, peers, parents, and the larger community. Guided by the International Society for Technology in Education competencies for students and best practices, students will practice the skills and attitudes needed to appropriately interact in both local and global communications. The course is a project-based, hands-on approach to this topic and will be taught in a blended learning environment, interacting both face-to-face and online throughout the semester, using an online course management tool such as Moodle.
