Submission Guidelines:
The following guidelines must be followed and the manuscripts that do not comply with these guidelines will not be considered for publication in this journal:
- The research paper should not have been published previously or submitted to other publications once it is sent to JEPS. The researcher should undertake not to submit it for publication before being informed of the decision on the status of the manuscript submitted.
- The submitted manuscript should not be part of a book or a chapter in a book, or any previously published work.
- Any paper that has been published or considered for publication in JEPS republished in other journals only after obtaining written permission from the editor. In this case, publication in this journal should be acknowledged.
- The JEPS retains the copyright of its publications.
- The JEPS shall have the right to request the deletion or modification of any part of the paper in accordance with the publishing policy.
- The Editorial Board of JEPS shall have the right to scrutinize, order and prioritize the manuscripts according to journal policies.
- The researcher must observe academic integrity and accuracy in citing other sources and accurately documenting these sources in the text and in the reference list/bibliography. The researcheral one shall bear full legal responsibility in the event of violating academic integrity after the manuscript is published.
- The citation and documentation of references in the paper should conform to the guidelines and format of American Association of Psychology APA version 6 (or later).
- The researcher should attach the search tools in a file separate from the text and identify the research support sources (if any).
- The manuscript should be grammatically correct in both Arabic and English and should be edited by a language specialist. The JEPS asserts that it will not accept papers or abstracts translated through Google or any other program.
- The researcher will be sent one printed copy and an electronic copy (PDF) of the issue in which his paper is published
Manuscript Submission Requirements:
An electronic copy of the manuscript using Microsoft Word should be submitted via jesedu@squ.edu.om including the following:
- The manuscript should be typed with 1.5-line space using the Times New Roman Font, size 12, leaving a margin of 2 centimeters on all sides.
- The typed manuscript should not exceed 7000 words including tables and figures
- A separate page for the title of the manuscript in Arabic and English and the name(s), address(es), phone number(s) and email(s) of the author(s).
- Two abstracts in Arabic and English, each of which shall not exceed 200 words.
- Five keywords
- The main text should include :
- An introduction: theoretical framework including the previous studies (without a separate title) and operational definitions of terms
- The problem of the research: its objectives and questions/ hypotheses.
- Method and procedures: Include (population, sample, tools, instrument reliability and validity, study procedures, data analysis method.
- Findings
- Discussion
- References
- Appendix (if found)
- Tables: Up to 7 tables may be included at the end of the manuscript with the titles on top and serial numbers, and the location of the table in the text and clarifying notes given under the tables.
- Figures & Charts: These should be placed after the table in black and white with serial numbers to be written along with the clarifying notes under the figures.
- Footnotes: Footnotes and authors’ clarifications are to be placed at the bottom of the relevant page.
Review Process:
The process of manuscript review will be carried out in three stages:
Stage 1: The manuscript is first reviewed by the editorial board to ensure meeting the journal’s publishing requirements and determine the originality and added knowledge to the field. Accordingly, the manuscript is either rejected or accepted for further review.
Stage 2: The manuscript is blind-reviewed by two reviewers within a maximum period of 4 weeks. Each reviewer will write a report on the suitability of the paper for publication.
- If the two reviewers are not in agreement, the manuscript will be sent to a third reviewer and the decision of the third reviewer will be final.
- The authors are informed of the review results within 3 to 6 months from the date of receipt of the manuscript.
- The authors have to make the amendments proposed by the reviewers within the period specified by the editorial board. The paper will be rejected if the revised version is not received within the required period (two weeks for minor modifications while one month for major modifications). The journal will not accept the revised version if it is received after the stipulated period.
Stage 3: In light of the modifications made by the author (minor or major), the research is accepted for publication in JEPS if the required modifications are made, and rejected if the editorial board does not accept the amendments.
